Privacy Policy
How we handle your data.

Aethos Solutions LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Skyyn mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Your email address, age range, skin type, and main goal provided when you create an account.
- Photos: Selfie images you submit for scoring, and any product label images you upload for label reports. Face photos are processed on our servers, stored in your private account storage so you can view scan history and before-and-after comparisons, and are permanently deleted if you delete your account. Product label images and extracted text are used to generate product reports and shelf context. See Section 3 below for more details.
- Product Shelf Information: Details of products you add, upload, or save, including visible label text, parsed ingredient information, product names, and notes about routine fit.
- Subscription Information: Your purchase history is managed via Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not directly collect your card payment details.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for App Check verification.
- Usage Data: App feature usage, scan frequency, and session data to improve your app experience.
- Crash Data: Anonymised crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to help us maintain app stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Score Generation: Face photos are analysed by our AI system to generate your Skyyn Score and four sub-scores (Luminosity, Microtexture, Pore Visibility, Tone Uniformity). These scores reflect visible aesthetic features from your photo.
- Product Label Reports: Product label images and visible label text are analysed to summarise ingredients, shelf overlap, and where the product fits into your routine. Product reports are for information only and may include errors; always refer to the label.
- Personalisation: Your skin type, age range, and goals help to tailor insights and routines for you.
- App Improvement: Aggregated and anonymised data helps us improve scoring accuracy and app features.
- Communication: We may send push notifications such as scan reminders, routine updates, and account messages. You can disable these notifications in your device settings.
3. Photo Processing and Storage
When you take a scan, your photo is:
- Securely uploaded to our servers using an encrypted connection (TLS 1.2+).
- Processed by our AI system to generate your aesthetic scores.
- Stored in your private account storage so you can access your scan history and before-and-after comparisons.
Scan photos are kept for as long as your account is active to allow progress tracking and photo comparisons. Product label images and any extracted label text may be kept in your private account storage to support product reports and shelf history. If you delete your account, all personal photos, product label images, and shelf data are permanently deleted. We never use your photos for advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with the following security:
- Encryption in transit and at rest.
- Firebase App Check on all requests to prevent unauthorised access.
- Firestore security rules that isolate user data — you can only access your own records.
- Scores and AI-generated content are written on the server only, and cannot be changed from your device.
5. Data Retention
- Photos: Retained while your account is active for scan history and before-and-after comparisons. Permanently deleted if you delete your account.
- Scan Scores and Insights: Kept as long as your account is active to allow progress tracking.
- Account Data: Retained for the duration your account remains active.
- Post-Deletion: Once you delete your account, all personal data is permanently erased within 90 days.
6. Third-Party Services
We use these third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, storage, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Google Cloud AI: Used for image analysis, score generation, and product label reports. Photos are processed in line with Google Cloud’s data processing policies and are not retained by Google.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Used for managing subscriptions and handling payments.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
7. Children's Privacy
Skyyn is not aimed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we become aware we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we may have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us at support@skyyn.app.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Access any personal information we hold about you.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Export your scan history and scores.
- Opt out of push notifications via your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@skyyn.app or use the account deletion feature within the App.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where there are material changes, we will inform you by email or through the App at least 30 days before any changes take effect. By continuing to use the App after the effective date, you accept the updated policy.
10. Affiliate Links
The App may contain a "Shop" section, where you may see third-party products available on Amazon.com. Skyyn participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising initiative. When you tap a product in the Shop, you are redirected to Amazon's website. Amazon receives your IP address, device information, and browsing context according to Amazon's own privacy policy, which is separate from ours.
Skyyn receives anonymised commission data from Amazon when a redirect leads to a qualifying purchase, but we never receive your personal purchase details, payment, or shipping information. No Skyyn account data is shared with Amazon.
