About Skyyn

Why we built it

Most people change their skincare by guesswork. You buy something, use it for a few weeks, look in the mirror and try to remember what your skin looked like before. Skyyn replaces the remembering with a record: the same kind of photo, scored the same way, every week, so you can see whether the number moved.

We made the score the centre of the app on purpose. One number is easy to track, easy to share and satisfying to beat. The work is in making sure that number deserves the attention.

The rules we hold the score to

• No flattering adjustments. Scores are never shifted up to feel better. The number shown is the number the analysis produced.
• No fake progress. A change is reported only at 5 points or more against your recent scans, because smaller moves cannot be told apart from taking a different photo.
• History is never rewritten. When the scoring improves, old scores stay as they were and the chart shows where the scale changed.
• The same treatment for every skin tone. Photo-quality checks are built from measurements that do not depend on how light or dark skin is, and we test pass rates and flag rates by skin-tone group before changing them.
• Skincare, not medicine. Skyyn describes what is visible. It never puts a medical name to what it sees on your skin, does not recommend treatment and does not stand in for a dermatologist.

How it is built

Photos are analysed on our servers, not on your phone. Face detection uses Google Cloud Vision. Scoring, label reports, routines and Skyyn Coach run on Anthropic's Claude models, with Google's Gemini as a backup for scoring if Claude is unavailable. Accounts, storage and the database run on Google's Firebase. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and Google Play. The privacy policy lists every service and what it receives.

Who is responsible for this site

Everything on skyyn.app is written and maintained by the team that builds the app at Aethos Solutions LLC. Feature descriptions, prices and limits are checked against the shipping app before each page is published. When a page was last changed is shown at the top of the page.
